I tie dyed the cake batter with pastel Easter colors [which was A PROCESS]. Then I split the icing up in multiple bowls and dyed it in Easter colors as well. THEN, I decorated each individual cupcake. I even made custom cupcakes for Ayda and Kinley with their initial on them. I was SO excited. I just knew they would be a big hit!
So, the sun eventually comes up and it's Friday. After a day of running around, doing errands, and taking a Global Sourcing exam (YES, I studied the night before....in between baking, dying, and decorating) - it was finally time to go. I packed up the car- placed the cupcakes (which were in a perfect cupcake caddy) in the car - grabbed domino - and hit the road. First stop, gas station. I spent a whole 7 minutes putting the most expensive gas ever in my car (don't even get me STARTED on how much it cost me to fill up that day). Well, of course everyone knows how dangerous it is to keep the car running while pumping gas - I suppose that's true. Therefore, I made the worst mistake ever: I turned off my car, which in turn, turns off the A.C. [Remember: this is Alabama weather we're talking about]
By now, you probably know where I'm going with this......
So, let's just let the pictures tell the rest of the story:
What do you think?
Ahhh, life.
Those cupcakes were gorgeous! I can't believe you have that much patience. They didn't look the greatest when they got to us, but they were damn tasty! And I know for a fact the kids loved them! Ayda was eating the cupcake liner for goodness sakes!! Love you, you crack me up
ReplyDeletei thought the cupcakes looked awesome when youb rought them to be honest... i was like omg we're in neverland - with robin williams - where we 're pretending to eat really colorful pretty food...and i got all excited and they were damn delicious!! johnny picking them up and holding the pan to his chest didn't really help the situation of beautifulness either though ahhahha.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, those are (were?) so pretty! I can't believe you decorated them!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Florida, so I completely understand your dismay over the heat stealing your thunder. All it takes it 7 minutes...bet they still tasted good though!
